I first got the chance to read Brandon’s play when I was working on The Makers’ Ensemble’s Short Play Fest in January 2025, and from the first stage direction I was SAT. His words traversed me to a very specific fantastical world unlike anything I’ve seen, but also felt like a full mirror expression of the chaos we all feel in trying to survive, live, and find our purpose in this present moment. We’ve had the absolute most fun putting this show together this summer. I’m so proud of our entire team in the ways we’ve grown and gotten to show up for each other, especially as we had to figure out what making indie theatre means and looks like right now in the state of our industry, city, society, planet….you name it y’all.
